About Brand: Created in 2010 by friends Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman, Pura Vida Bracelets began as a small bracelet business that has now blossomed into a brand that carries different lines including a line of laidback clothing pieces. When Griffin and Paul travel to Costa Rica together they crossed paths with two bracelets peddlers named Jorge and Joaquin. After seeing that Jorge and Joaquin lived in poverty despite their hard work, Griffin and Paul asked them to make 400 bracelets to take home with them. Upon returning to San Diego Paul and Griffin displayed the bracelets in a small boutique. After selling out in just a few days Paul and Griffin partnered with Jorge and Joaquin in hopes of spreading the "pura vida" or "pure life" spirit. Today Jorge Joaquin and 100+ of their amigos hold full-time jobs thanks to Pura Vida.
Where to Wear it: Pura Vida offers laidback clothing that embodies the "pura vida" spirit. Living the "pure life" means appreciating life's simple treasures and living life to the fullest. Pura Vida's clothing line embraces the "pure life" by encouraging simple pleasures with laidback pieces like casual tanks with inspiring messages, and simple comfortable shorts perfect for lounging on the beach. Enjoy life in comfort, with any of Pura Vida's clothing pieces, whether you're lounging at home, soaking up the sun, or riding your bike.
Why We Love Them: We love the mission behind the brand. Pura Vida strives to support local communities and artisans. Pura Vida produces quality products that give back to the community through charities, employing local Costa Rican artisans, and donating 1% of their annual net revenue to environmental organizations worldwide. We love the heart and soul behind the brand, and that each piece from Pura Vida reminds us to slow down and live the "pure life."
