About Brand: Free People started off in the 1970's as a single store in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Created by Dick Hayne, Free People grew from one store to two and took on the name of Urban Outfitters. In 1984 new life was breathed into the Free People name and it became it's own line. Free People Movement was created as an activewear line for the free spirits who lead active lifestyles.
