This week for our staff picks Saturday we are hanging out with our newest employee and all around badass, Ali! Ali is a Spin Instructor and avid fitness and weight lifting babe. She always has a smile and is always willing to lend a hand with whatever needs to be done. This makes her a perfect addition to our growing Evolve girl gang!
Tell us about yourself and your style: I’m all about comfort and I rarely wear makeup. These facts have led me to rock simple outfits. You’ll always see me wearing high-waisted pants, typically of the earth tones scheme, and an over-sized tee or sweater. Sometimes I like to get a little wild and wear a crop top, layered with (you guessed it) an over-sized sweater. I keep my main pieces plain and top off my look with bold accessories, usually of the ring and necklace variety. Finally, I’m getting around to stepping up my shoe game (no pun intended). Again, I’m all about comfort. Birks, Nikes, and Converse tickle my fancy
Tell us about your body type: My passion resides in weightlifting. I have completely transformed my body composition through lifting. More importantly, I have developed a growth mindset through lifting. I have learned what failure feels like and I have learned that failure is not final. These lessons I’ve encountered in the gym have spilled over into other aspects of my life, and I feel more empowered than ever. Thus, I am always on the lookout for clothes that I feel great in. Sometimes it’s a pair of leggings and a sweater, and sometimes it’s high-waisted jeans with 3-inch heels!
Tell us a little about why you chose the items in your layout:
Joah Brown Florence Maxi Dress: I love the material this dress is made of. It’s as soft as butter and who wouldn’t want to let butter flow over their body throughout the day?! It also fits my 6 foot long body, which is a plus.
Maaji Suit: I love the color scheme of this suit. I also love the intricate straps. Peculiar tan lines are what I aim for.
Jewelry: This is where my style shines. I keep the clothing simple and let my style speak through jewelry.
Elephant: I traveled to Thailand a few years ago for a service trip and I got to hang out with elephants almost everyday. They are such kind creatures and they have a special place in my heart. I keep this awesome decoration on my bedside table.
Pumpkin Spice Candle: Contrary to popular belief, pumpkin flavored things are/smell delicious year-round. Pumpkin is my favorite scent and I love to have this lit at all hours so I can imagine celebrating Thanksgiving every single day.
